EUIPO Observatory plenary meeting

The EUIPO Observatory held its annual plenary meeting on 26 and 27 September in Alicante in the presence of representatives from Member States, EU officials and experts in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and tracking and tracing technologies.

The objective of the meeting was to present the organisation’s ongoing activities in the field of IPR enforcement as well as discuss and agree on a work programme for 2019.

Following the success of the EUBlockathon2018, the 1st anticounterfeit blockchain competition, a special workshop was dedicated to exploring possibilities offered by blockchain technologies to address counterfeiting. On this occasion, the winning teams of the Blockathon, including CAIT’s member company ScanTrust, were invited to present their project to the audience.
